EDMONTON, Oct. 6 /CNW/ - October 5-11 is Fire Prevention week across Canada. Edmonton Fire Chief Randy Wolsey has become a national voice for increasing fire safety in our cities.

Named 2007 Fire Chief of the Year, Wolsey has been involved in fire service for 35 years and has headed Edmonton's Fire Department since 2001. Chief Wolsey was successful in developing an e-leaning training program; increasing staffing levels by approximately 150 firefighters and having City Council endorse a Fire Rescue Master Plan. A well-known public speaker in the firefighting world, Chief Wolsey has spoken at expert gatherings across North America.
